Stop mixing yogurt or curd with fruits.
It's a toxic combination. Let's understand why.
Number one, yogurt or curd have active bacteria that starts feeding on the natural sugars and fructose found in fruits, and that fermentation process continues in your stomach and gut despite the presence of hydrochloric acid, which cannot stop the fermentation.
It leads to bacterial overgrowth in your gut and can aggravate symptoms of SIBO, H.pylori Candida, IBS, diarrhoea and can even cause a weak sluggish digestion and metabolism due to mucus being produced by this toxic byproduct. It can also trigger cold, cough and sinus.
Number two all fruits including apples, berries, cherries, strawberries and even tomatoes have active fruit acids that reacts with the lactic acid found in yogurt.
And that toxic byproduct again, can cause leaky gut syndrome and can aggravate skin issues like psoriasis, eczema, rosacea and urticaria.
Now, the authentic way of enjoying your Greek yogurt is with olives or pickles, olive oil, some spices and veggies and use it as a dip or a spread on your flatbread. It's called Raita in India.
You can also dilute your Greek yogurt or curd with some water and some condiments and spices like cumin powder, pink salt, cilantro, grated cucumber and use it as an excellent probiotic drink to have post meals.
Remember, Greek yogurt is a corporate marketing scheme that was done to sell this product to you. It makes the company richer, but you sicker.
Yogurt in Greece begin in the 5th century BCE with the writings of Herodotus. but in reality, the process of straining yogurt (making it "Greek") began somewhere in the Middle East.
Greek yogurt gets its name from a corporate marketing scheme developed by Fage to divert sales away from traditional American yogurts like Yoplait and toward this creamier, more protein-dense product.
In Greece, this strained yogurt is called straggisto, and is used to make dips like tzatziki. You can spread it on flat bread, add with olives, pickles, olive oil, and veggies like onions and cucumbers.
