Motorcycle Truck Forecar in existence, affectionately known as Walter.
This narrative documentary features interviews with Walter’s caretaker Michael Schuster and a variety of associated story
participants. Hundreds of supporting archival assets (film, photographs, publications, video, etc.) support the captivating story of this 1913 Harley-Davidson Forecar.
The Walter documentary explores the development of early three-wheeled transportation, the Harley-Davidson history of service motorcycles, and Walter’s own fascinating story. The storyline tracks this unique service motorcycle from 1913 delivering on the streets of old Milwaukee, through forty years of desolation stored in a horse barn, and then another forty years of meticulous restoration by Ally Schuster and his grandson Michael, eventually becoming an acknowledged motorcycle artifact over hundred years later.
This is truly the ultimate barn-find story.
Aside from a short exhibition at the National Motorcycle Museum, Walter never left southeastern Wisconsin until his
transfer to his new caretaker in 2019. This remarkable motorcycle’s story and the related experiences have delighted enthusiasts and inspired us all to value the lessons of motorcycle history.
