Greenland, the world's largest island, is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. Located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, Greenland is known for its vast ice sheet, which covers roughly 80% of the island and contains about 10% of the world's freshwater reserves. This ice sheet is second in size only to Antarctica's.
