Here's an advert for a collection of action figures from the Masters of the Universe range which was broadcast on UK television round about 1987. While it brings back happy memories, when I look back with the eyes of a cynical adult at the blatant marketing of these sorts of characters that went on in the 80s, it actually kind of irritates me. The lengths they went to - they created a whole animated series, don't forget - all to shift a few toys to innocent kids seem totally unjustifiable.
But who says it didn't work? I owned two of the figures featured in this ad alone, plus that one with three faces and He-Man himself. Ho-hum.
(Please remember that this is an off-air VHS recording, so don't go expecting 1080p HD quality. I'm fairly certain that this video isn't commercially available, and I've uploaded it for its historic interest only. That said, if you are a copyright holder and object, please don't hesitate to contact me.)
