WE ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU ~Senator Umeh eulogizes Cardinal Okpalaeke at 60th Birthday
Speaking as the presiding Chairman at the triple Celebration of the 60th Birthday of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, His Eminence, Peter Ebele Cardinal Okpalaeke, 10 years Anniversary of his Bishopric Ordination and 3 years of the creation of Ekwulobia Diocese, the Senator-elect for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) congratulated the Cardinal on the giant feat achieved in 60 years of his life and also extolled his great strides in the service of God, the Church and Humanity.
Senator Victor Umeh described Cardinal Okpalaeke as an exemplary leader, utterly selfless and humility personified thus, God has elevated him to the Cardinalate within ten years of his episcopal ordination.
He emphasized the humility of Cardinal Okpalaeke as a lesson for all Christians praying for continued blessings and strength as he continue to lead the young Ekwulobia Diocese to greater heights. The Labour Party Senator further pledged his continued support towards the progress of the Church in Ekwulobia Diocese and for His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke.
"we are proud of you as somebody who is one of us, not only as an Igbo man, but from Anambra state.
"Your Eminence, it was not by your wish but it was God who chose you for this work and once God chooses you, there's nothing anybody can do about it.
" for all the good things God has been using you to do for all of us, we continue to thank God Almighty" - Senator Umeh added
On the other hand, Cardinal Okpalaeke thanked Senator Victor Umeh for his outstanding commitments towards the good of the Church, the society and humanity at large, and as well, congratulated him for his landslide victory in the February 25th Anambra-Central senatorial Election thereby prayed for God's continued blessings even as he return to the Senate to once again, make wise and robust contributions towards building a better nation and being a reliable voice for the ordinary people.
