Hi everyone! I figured it would be interesting to make a side by side comparison with the new Fender Flea Active and the older Modulus Flea signature, as I didn't find a similar video on both of these on YouTube!
I used the same volume, both preamps were set to neutral (bass 0 and treble 0), and also used a neutral profile with a bit of compression and reverb on both in Garageband. So these are the true sound of each bass recorded directly into Roland Edirol UA-25 soundcard.
For infos: The Modulus is equipped with a stock Lane Poor pickup and an Aguilar OBP-3 9v preamp. Elixir Nickel 45-105 coated strings.
The Fender is all original with its stock pickup and Aguilar OBP-1 18v preamp. Stock Fender Nickel 45-105 strings. Both strings share more or less the same brightness.
I have also set up the string height (action) and neck curvature almost exactly the same on both basses!
I think they both sound phenomenal, similar in some situations, quite different in others, but I love them both, however, the Modulus is quite easier to play, smaller but also a bit heavier;
Which one did you like better?

PS: The Modulus/Fender stickers on the Fender were already removed after the third shot with no harm were made 😂
