Habitual lying is so common to a psychopathic liar that it it can be difficult to stop habitual lying or figure out ways on how to stop compulsive lying.
Habitual lying, pathological lying vs normal lying? In this video, we will discuss habitual lying and ways to spot a psychopathic liar.
Everyone lies at some point in life. In fact, just saying you don't lie is already a lie. We lie about our age, claim to be okay when we are at our worst, and tell friends they look great when they really don't. Well, lying is okay to some extent in certain circumstances, especially when the effects are harmless or necessary to protect the other person. However, some people lie to manipulate and deceive, and to gain favor and power. A psychopathic liar believes they have no responsibility to other people's feelings and emotions and lying is their power game to control and influence people negatively. Most psychopathic liars carry the behavior from childhood, and scientists attribute lying to childhood abuse or genetics.
While most people always get away with the small lies, most of them are pretty easy to spot. They are especially easy to spot if you know how to read the signs, body language, and the techniques psychopaths use. Here is how you can spot and catch psychopathic liars.
They Tell Lies All the Time
Psychopathic liars lie all the time about anything and everything. Lying is like breathing for them, and they get so comfortable in their lies that they can't complete a conversation without lying. They lack empathy and can look at you in the eyes when lying to you using a persuasive tone. They often take other people's stories and make them their own, to gain credit in their circle of friends.
To catch them in the act, start asking neutral questions and observe their response baseline. Ask them simple questions that elicit normal responses, like how their day was, the weather, and weekend plans. Observe their response and body language. Then you can use that information to compare and contrast with other responses.
They Have a Peculiar Body Language
Psychopathic liars are not easy to catch as they grow to become masters in their game. They’re pretenders and make pretty good actors as they tend to accompany their lies with body language. Unlike normal liars, psychopathic liars will look you in the eyes, and seem pretty relaxed when lying. Remember, this is natural to them.
