Ingredients
- Bread Slices - 4 Nos.
- Eggs - 3 Nos.
- Vanilla Extract - 1 Table spoon
- Sugar - 250g
- Milk - 1L
Instructions
*To make Caramel*
- Keep a kadai on medium flame
- Add 50g sugar into it
- Let it heat and melt while constantly stirring
- Heat until it turns brown and start to boil
- Add 50ml of water
- Mix well and turn off the flame
- Now caramel is prepared
- Transfer the caramel to a steel pan which would fit inside your pressure cooker
- Spread it evenly on the base
- Keep it aside to cool down
*To make Bread Pudding*
- Take 4 slices of bread
- Cut off the edges of the bread and cut the bread into smaller pieces
- Place the bread in a different bowl
- Pour 2 cups (250ml each) of milk into the bread
- Keep it aside and let the bread soak the milk for some time
- Take the kadai/pan in which caramel was made
- Add 3 eggs into the kadai
- Add 200g sugar
- Mix/Whisk it well
- Add 2 cups (250ml each) of milk
- Whisk it well
- Add the soaked bread and milk mixture to it
- Mix/Whisk for some time very well
- Strain the mixture thoroughly through a sieve until there is very little residue
- Take the sieved mixture and pour it over the pan containing caramel slowly
- Transfer the entire the mixture in to the pan
*Cooking Bread Pudding*
- Take a pressure cooker with some water and a base
- Keep the pan over the base inside the pressure cooker
- Close the lid and do not keep the weight
- Let it cook for 25 mins
- After 25 mins, turn off the flame
- Open and the lid and take out the pan
- Let it sit and cool down for some time
- Refrigerate after it is cool for 2-4 hours
- Take it out from refrigerator after 4 hours, and
- Your Caramel Bread Pudding is ready!!!
- Cut and serve upside down and pour the caramel over it
