The Curtiss-Wright XF-87 Blackhawk was an American all-weather jet fighter interceptor prototype. It was developed to replace the Northrop P-61 Black Widow. Ultimately, the Curtiss-Wright XF-87 (previously designated XP-87) was never put into production, since the US Air Force chose to order the Northrop F-89 Scorpion instead.
