This video compares the broadcast version and Rhino DVD version of the episode "More Than Meets the Eye, Part 1." There are timestamps in the description showing all the differences. The broadcast versions were sourced from Maverick Entertainment's UK DVDs.

What's the Difference?

The left, color inferior and softer picture quality is the broadcast master. It is sourced from tape and is the video that people saw on TV during 1984. The right, is the Rhino DVD master. It is sourced from a 35mm film negative, which has retained color information better, and picture quality is much clearer. Although this was a great find, Rhino failed to realize that the film had contained much more errors then they thought it did, and did not replace the scenes, or attempted to use digital editing to fix these mistakes. The film was not unaltered, however, it had missing scenes, and Rhino reinserted an "enhanced" version of the broadcast master for these missing scenes. They appear much softer against the film, and is noticeable when switching to them.

Differences:
3:40 - Transition spark is not in the same place and goes out further than normal.
5:47 - Transition spark color is different, and in wrong place.
10:37 - Transition spark is not in the same place and goes out further than normal.
11:20 - Transition spark color is different, and in wrong place.
16:16 - Transition spark color is different, and in wrong place.
16:51 - Transition spark color is different, and in wrong place.
17:46 - Transition spark is not in the same place and goes out further than normal.
21:18 - The preview for the next episode showcases some deleted footage in the broadcast version, and minor effects are changed up for Rhino's version, because they sourced the preview footage from the next episode, but didn't check for the differences.
