Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, President of the National Council for the Protection of the Fatherland (CNSP) of Niger, sent a message of congratulations to Bassirou Diomaye Faye, following his election to the presidency of Senegal.
In his message, Tiani hails Faye's victory and describes it as "confirmation of the correctness of the ideals of social justice, patriotism and independence defended by his party, PASTEF."
He also expresses his conviction that the two men will be able to give a new dynamic to relations between Niger and Senegal, "in the sense of asserting our sovereignty and truly defending the interests of our peoples."
Tiani reaffirms his commitment to working with Faye within the AES to “promote social democracy, sovereignty and the well-understood interests of the peoples of the Sahel.”
