Performed at the Key Club in West Hollywood, CA on September 25, 2010 to celebrate the life of John Henry Bonham.
There are drummers and there are DRUMMERS. John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham was the latter. The anchor of the heaviest band ever to grace the stage, Led Zeppelin, and undoubtedly the best drummer in rock 'n' roll history, he died on this day 30 years ago. After a day of heavy drinking, he was put to bed at band member Jimmy Page's home and was found the next morning by his other bandmate, John Paul Jones. A sad day in rock history. When one thinks of this incident, Don McLean's song "American Pie" comes to mind because an aspect of music definitely died that day.
