The Lim-2 was manufactured under license in Poland and was almost an exact copy of the late production Soviet MiG-15bis (Микоян-Гуревич МиГ-15). The company with the license was WSK "PZL-Mielec" located in Mielec and in the 1950s quickly became the biggest aircraft producer in Poland. Production of over 500 Lim-2 aircraft and licensed VK-1 engines, named the Lis-2 took place from 1953 to 1956.
The 1st Fighter Regiment "Warsawa" was formed on July 7 1943 as the 1st Independent Fighter Squadron. On August 20 1943 renamed the Polish 1st Fighter Regiment and finally the 1st Fighter Regiment "Warsawa" on October 1943. During 1959 the 1st FR was based in Minsk Mazowiecki Air Base flying the Lim-2 Fagot B.
Today's example is from Hobby Master. It is 1:72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. The model is of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 Fagot, Polish Air Force 1st Fighter Rgt, Minsk Mazowiecki AB, Poland, 1959, (Lim-2).

The use of any images or video in any of my reviews is also used out of pure respect in regard to units and/or actual people. Political ideals aside, it takes great courage and selflessness to answer your countries call. Thank you.
