The GoPro 7 has a nasty cold climate surprise!

Just purchased a DJI Osmo Pocket, the newest addition to our miniature, travel-friendly gear. The Osmo is hardly any bigger than the tiny package it comes in, but I was surprised by just how capable this unit is, even in low light.
After unboxing the Osmo and getting it set up and updated (which took no longer than 10 minutes) we were off to central Moscow to film the beautiful Christmas decorations, and compare the Osmo Pocket's 4K60 video quality against its most obvious rival - the GoPro Hero 7 Black.
Did I mention it was -15 deg. celsius? Because what was initially supposed to be a Gimbal vs. Hypersmooth test turned into a pure image quality comparison as, much to our surprise, the GoPro turns off Hypersmooth on its own when it gets too "cold".
As per GoPro's site: "In cold temperatures (0°C or lower) the battery’s capacity is reduced and is not able to keep up with the high-power usage. Because of this, HyperSmooth and Standard Stabilization are not available [...] when operating in very cold temperatures".
Needless to say, I still had a lot of fun shooting this video, and it's still quite interesting to see the raw video quality these two cameras are capable of without any editing in post.
There are still many applications where the GoPro 7 is irreplaceable for me (like anything that has to do with water), but now the DJI Osmo Pocket is probably going to take the spot of my standby action cam that I always have in my... Pocket!
