I went old-school with an A-Mount Sony Lens and the LA-EA3 Adapter for my Sony A7iii. This combination has been great, snappy, and it's a great way to save over HALF of the cost of the newest E-Mount version of a 70-300 lens.
Sony does offer many native E-Mount lenses with Linear focus, but Many Tamron lenses still have the focus inertia/non-linear focusing response.
I've taken a lot of great photos with this lens & adapter combo. Maybe you can too.
Enjoy!
