The “Denier” is often a family member who is looking for every excuse as to why the situation isn’t as bad as it is. Denial can make families think that they don’t need to do anything to help the addiction. Deniers will often see through the real problems that exist because they continue to deny the behaviors of the addict resulting in not seeking treatment.
