Government has made 430-million-rand available for drought relief.
Farmers in the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape are set to benefit.
The three provinces were declared national disaster areas in February.
The Northern Cape Agriculture department will receive 42-million-rand from the chunk. For years, the province battled a severe drought - with farmers losing 30-percent of their livestock - forcing others to leave the sector.
