Tuesday, a Hamilton County Judge denied bail for 15-year-old Lookout Valley Murder Suspect, Jacob Allison.
Allison, who was arrested Monday, is charged with 3 counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Court administrator, Sam Marrs describes the hearing as quick and somber. "In my humble opinion the kid didn't really understand what was going on. At 15 how do you understand the fact that you are facing three life sentences."
A magistrate court judge denied bail for 15-year-old Jacob Allison despite his attorney's best efforts. "The defense argued that the child lived in Hamilton county had no prior history with the court and that the child could stay with the mother."
Allison is being represented by Attorney Marti Levitt, who tells us he and his client expected no bail. "I mean it's a detention hearing and he's charged with serious crimes. I assume that's why the judge held him."
While our cameras were not allowed inside the juvenile courtroom, we caught family members rushing out of the juvenile court house visibly emotional.
His attorney tells us his client is remaining hopeful. "He maintains he innocence and that's the presumed to be innocent and that the presumption I give him."
Marrs tells us that the District Attorney office has petitioned for him to be tried as an adult. A review hearing next month will determine the date of Allison's transfer hearing.
