We had been building up to this day for some time and it turned out to be an amazing day in the mountains. The North Ridge of Tryfan is a classic Welsh Grade 1 scramble and is straight into interesting terrain 5 min off the road. Early in the week we took on a similar amount of height and time on a less technical peak and we also practiced scrambling with the rope at a local slab. We were well prepared and had a great forecast apart from a bit of left over ice and snow near the summit. The key to making this work with a 7 year old was lots of preparation and making sure he was the one wanting to do it and it was not us dragging him up. Not sure what mountain will be next for Sully Adventurer but he loved every minute of this adventure.
