Considering the superhero genre is arguably the biggest cash cow in entertainment, superhero games have been wildly inconsistent over the last decade despite finally having the backing of major developers. A few seem to have figured it out, but the landscape of superhero games isn't as promising as it seemed it would be when Marvel announced its plans to explore the medium back in 2016.
