Director of Opera, Dean Anthony, overviews the intensive opera program at Brevard Music Center. Each summer, BMC's opera program enrolls approximately 30 singers who, together, constitute the Janiec Opera Company.

Hallmarks of the Janiec Opera Company include: roles are sung by students; all productions are fully staged and utilize professional directors, designers, costumers, etc.; and all mainstage productions are presented with orchestra.
