Review the new 2020 album from black metal band Inquisition, Black Mass for a Mass Grave via Agonia Records. Honestly one of the best black metal albums of the year, despite Dagon's controversy. And speaking of which, I WILL share my thoughts on THAT at the end of the video. If you're new to Inquisition, this is melodic black metal FFO: Immortal with croaky vocals more akin to early Mayhem. They are also influenced by Bathory’s 'Return,' Burzum, and the Polish black metal scene. The band originally formed in Cal, Colombia back in 1988. This is their 8th studio album following up critical hits like Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm (2010), Obscure Verses for the Multiverse (2013) and Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith (2016). Key tracks: Luciferian Rays, Majesty Of The Expanding Tomb, A Glorious Shadow from Fire, Hymn to the Absolute Majesty of Darkness and Fire and Ashes, Triumphant Cosmic Death, and My Spirit Shall Join A Constellation Of Swords.
