In diesem weiteren Video fahren wir mal mit einem Klassiker der spanischen Bahnindustrie, der AVE-Baureihe 112. Dieser Zug, und auch die identisch aussehende Baureihe 102, sind nach dem für den spanischen Hersteller Talgo typischen Konzept gebaut worden, bei dem sich die Wagenkästen der Mittelwagen an den Wagenübergängen nur einen einzigen Radsatz teilen. Dies führt einerseits zu einer geringen Geräuschkulisse, selbst bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten, andererseits jedoch zu einem unruhigeren Lauf. Dem Aussehen der Front der Triebköpfe verdanken die Triebzüge den Spitznamen "El Pato", was aus dem Spanischen übersetzt "Die Ente" bedeutet. Meinen persönlichen Eindrücken nach sind diese Züge ziemlich komfortabel, trotz des vermehrten Schwankens bei der Fahrt.
Das Video zeigt die komplette Fahrt in solch einem Talgo von València, einer Mittelmeerstadt im Osten, nach Madrid. Der AVE 5171 fährt hierbei den im Norden der Stadt gelegenen Durchgangsbahnhof Madrid-Chamartín an, um dann die Reise weiter in Richtung Norden nach Burgos Rosa Manzano fortzusetzen. So etwas ist erst seit Juli 2022 möglich, als der normalspurige Tunnel "de la Risa" in Madrid eröffnet wurde, der die Strecke València - Madrid, am Bahnhof Puerta de Atocha vorbei, mit Chamartín verbindet. Dieser Tunnel ist etwa 7 Kilometer lang und führt fast schnurgerade östlich an der Innenstadt Madrids vorbei. Da der AVE da nur mit maximal 50-100 km/h durchfahren kann, dauert dies ziemlich lange. Während Züge von und nach Madrid Puerta de Atocha jedoch ein Teilstück der LAV Madrid - Sevilla befahren müssen, kann dieser AVE ohne abzuzweigen auf der LAV von València weiterfahren.
