Earlier in a video on my channel, the result of boiling a tree (birch) in linseed oil for 2 hours was shown. As a result, wood stabilization. There was no point in boiling wood in oil anymore, wood (birch) 15 mm thick in 2 hours was completely saturated with oil and the surface of the wood began to deteriorate, this was noticeable during the subsequent processing. I wanted a darker wood color and decided to experiment and boil wood of the same type in wax and linseed oil to see the difference. For the experiment, I took several different oak planks that I had after laying the parquet. To make the most of the time spent, I decided to make a kitchen knife. I have never made a knife with my own hands, this is my first such experience, so please do not judge strictly for the result obtained. As a result, the handle of the knife was treated with beeswax, cooking for 2 hours. The knife holder was treated with linseed oil, cooking for 2 hours too. As a result, there is a noticeable difference in color after processing, the wax gave a darker color. In both cases, the color turned out to be very beautiful and saturated, of course, everyone will choose their own version. Experiment.
