No question, chaturanga dandasana is a challenging pose. It is also a very dangerous pose for your shoulders and elbows if not done correctly. Over the years of teaching we have seen very unsafe and inefficient chaturangas in classes, workshops and retreats and it is something we focus on in this video. Our intention is always to correct plank and chaturanga first since they are done so often in a yoga class, especially in vinyasa yoga.
This video is for all levels of yoga asana practice. The earlier you watch this in your yoga journey the better because then you can chaturanga dandasana in a more efficient and safe way from the very beginning. We also offer modification if the strength is not there yet to hold the pose properly. This pose will make you super strong and is the foundation for all arm balances.
