Cenk Uygur ([ Ссылка ]) host of The Young Turks discusses the reactions to the Pledge of Allegiance being said in Arabic by a student at Pine Bush High School in New York.
"Pine Bush High School became a battle ground of high tensions after Andrew Zinc, a senior at the school and the assembly president, allowed another student to recite the Pledge of Allegiance over the school's loud speaker during daily announcements. The reaction has been divided, with some saying the move was progressive while others have seen it as unpatriotic and inciting terrorism. The girl who read the pledge received harassment and bullying from the other students and Zinc was banned from reading the daily announcements. The school's principal, Aaron Hopmayer, issued an official apology, stating that all Pledges would be said in English at the school from now on."
What is your reaction to the Pledge of Allegiance being spoken languages that aren't English? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
