After walking around the French Market and the Riverwalk in New Orleans, LA. I stopped to take this video, at the Cafe Du Monde in the mall, making fresh Beignets. They smelt so good! I was amazed with how much flour they pour on the dough to make them and also how long they fry them... They had the first batch held down in the fryer for about 3-5 min. For being such small pieces of dough you'd think they would have to be taken out right away.
This video was taken on June 23rd 2012. I took this video with my cell phone so its under a format that isn't compatible with my editing software. I was trying to get a shot of the finished product at the end of the video but the guy wouldn't move. :)
Beignets are a deep fried dough that is topped with powdered sugar and best eaten fresh and hot. The origin of Beignets came from France. They were brought to New Orleans in the 18th century. You can check out more about Cafe Du Monde at their website. [ Ссылка ]
