Why does Deathstroke hate the Teen Titans? This bitter rivalry finds its roots entwined with another longstanding feud, the one between Deathstroke and the original Robin, Dick Grayson. In the pages of Batman number 122, aptly titled Secret Meetings, a revelation emerges.
When The Dark Knight initially took Grayson under his wing, a contract was placed on Robin. Seizing this opportunity, Slade Wilson, the formidable assassin renowned in the DC Universe as DeathStroke, accepted the task. Deathstroke's reputation as an unwavering executor of contracts precedes him, with only a scant number of failures. The first of these rare mishaps occurred at the hands of Batman himself.
The second transpired when Slade's own son, Grant, undertook a contract targeting the Teen Titans, but tragically perished before its completion. Despite the Titans' lack of culpability, Slade attributed blame to them, vowing to carry out his son's unfinished mission. Thus unfolded the notorious narrative of the Judas contract, cementing Deathstroke's deep-seated grudge against both Dick Grayson and the entirety of the Teen Titans.
