(4 Sep 2016) Hundreds of people gathered on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro to demand the removal of President Michel Temer, who was Dilma Rousseff's vice president.
The unrest comes five days after an impeachment trial resulted in the ousting of Rousseff, the first female Brazilian president.
Protesters were calling for new presidential elections.
Rousseff has vowed to fight Temer and his party who she accused of orchestrating a coup.
She is appealing the impeachment process before the Supreme Court, but has also promised to call for new elections if given back the presidency.
New elections could come if Temer resigns, is impeached or disqualified by electoral authorities for campaign violations two years ago.
Any change would need to happen before the year ends.
