Point Pelee National Park lies in the southern most part of Ontario Canada, neighbouring on Detroit, Michigan. It is a hugely popular spot for birdwatchers, who arrive every spring to see as many species as they can, however their keen eyes have shown that both the birds themselves and their habitats are under threat. We then visit the Grasslands national Park, sitting between Canada’s Saskatchewan and the US’ Montana. This beautiful grassland prairie is also threatened, with its brutal winters, searing summers, and extreme winds. Its former ranch land that is stitched together, with some still privately owned. But can the Parks Canada and private owners come together to works towards a bright future for this fragile ecosystem?
