The trailer that announced the port of Dead Rising 3 coming to PC, circa 2014.
----------------------------------------------------
PC gamers were thrilled to learn that Dead Rising 3 was making its way to their platform of choice. There were pre-launch discussions on Steam held by Capcom community managers where they would engage with the community to get feedback as to what they would like to see in this particular PC port.
The announcement, news and Steam discussions of the Dead Rising 3 PC port were not without a small amount of drama, however; initially, gamers were told that there would be a hard 30FPS cap.
Everyone knows how "up-in-arms" certain sects of the PC gaming community can get over any sort of FPS cap, so Capcom relented and started testing an .ini tweak that unlocked the framerate of Dead Rising 3. The progress of this tweak, along with screenshots and videos showing off performance on various hardware configs, were shared by Capcom on the Steam pre-launch community discussions.
Release day comes and, for the most part, everything worked out okay. TotalBiscuit (rest in peace) did his PC Port Report and didn't shred the game too bad, most PC players were more or less okay with the performance and, all-in-all, it really was a pretty decent port to the PC (at least relative to a lot of console-to-PC ports that were coming out at that time).
