In this video, we will show you the two common chassis options for the PowerEdge R730xd. There is a total of 2 options which are: 12 Bay LFF and 24 Bay SFF. There are not very many differences between the different chassis aside from the differences in bay counts. The 12 Bay LFF chassis accepts 3.5" drives while the 24 Bay SFF accepts 2.5" drives. Each chassis style for the R730xd has a total of 6 PCIe slots. Three of the PCIe slots are high profile and the other three are low profile. Another cool thing about both R730xd chassis is the ability to install a rear drive kit in the back of the chassis. With this kit, you can plug in a total of two hotswap 2.5" drives. We will show both chassis side by side, showcasing the drive bays and the different ports.
