With an underlying passion for justice and truth, Keress Weidner brings to the TEDxYouth@Dayton stage a powerful talk about acceptance. They give factual information about many little-known aspects of conversion therapy and other historical “treatments” of homosexual and transgender people, while sharing the compelling story of Leelah Alcorn of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Keress Ambrose Frey Weidner is a junior at Kettering Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio. A local artist, poet, and activist, they work with the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network’s National Student Council and Greater Dayton chapter. Keress has a fish named Ramses, loves Radiohead and Depeche Mode, volunteers as a stage makeup artist, and leads their school’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
