3 Seated Figures I is a sculpture by French artist Pierre Yermia.
This figurative bronze sculpture depicts a group of three figures seated on chairs. One is in profile, while the other two are facing us. The bodies of these statues are slender, their long, fragile limbs contrasting with their more massive torsos and pelvises. Finally, their heads, reduced to the essentials, rest on long, slender, tapering necks.
The solidarity of these three figures and the composition they form make this multi-faceted sculpture a harmonious whole. Pierre Yermia also plays on the relationship between the full and empty spaces in his sculptures, creating an open space. The proximity of these figures weaves between them "a silent, invisible exchange, a whisper of profound humanity". This is how the artist conveys, through the "Groups of Figures" series, the message of a humanity that may be in danger, but remains optimistic and serene.
