Urban terrorists dressed as airline pilots have kidnapped the man likely to be Italy's next president, plunging the country into a civil-war atmosphere. According to police six gunmen ambushed and abducted moro in Rome. Five of his bodyguards were shot dead by the terrorists. Moro was on his way to parliament for the confidence debate on Premier Giulio Andreotti's communist supported new government when the attack was made. The 61-year-old political leader was in a car with two police bodyguards and three more bodyguards followed in a second car.
