The theme song “I’ll be there for you” (by Rembrandts) from the popular TV show FRIENDS is presented here with a generous mix of Indian classical ragas in a fusion arrangement. The music starts with an instrumental version of the original theme song with additional rhythmic beats from Indian percussion instruments; then the line “I’ll be there for you” is taken for creative improvisation on the violin (Rishabh Ranganathan); a variety of brisk swara patterns based on carnatic raga Harikhambhoiji are followed by a volley of ragamalika swara patterns with different fast-bowing arrangements on the violin. The swara patterns are accompanied by energetic percussion beats from mridangam, tabla, cajon, rhythm pads and cymbals (V.G.Visswesh) with precise music arrangement and mixing (Abhinay Jayan). A crescendo at higher octaves followed by a final shower of sautille bow strokes ends the song.
Good Friendships stand the test of time. The video shots portray a multitude of flavors, colors, seasons, times, and moments associated with Friendship.
