Grounding techniques can be useful at times of distress to bring yourself out of or prevent the onset of panic attacks, flashbacks and dissociation.
This technique is simple and easy, suitable for children and young people as well as adults.
It can be good to practice grounding techniques when you are calm so they are in your toolkit ready to go whenever you may next need them. Why not practice this one as you watch the video, or share it with a child or young person that could use it?
This grounding technique is from Brainy Cards (Credit to Lynne Ryan - Koru Counselling 2016) which are designed to help children practice emotional regulation, so this is suitable for your kids and younger siblings too (Brainy cards available here: [ Ссылка ])
