With two million premature deaths annually, South Asia faces the world’s heaviest health toll from air pollution. People in South Asia lose about five years of life on average due to #airpollution. These adverse health effects have high economic costs in terms of reduced labor productivity and foregone output, with annual welfare losses estimated at 10% of the region’s GDP. On the International Day of #CleanAir for Blue Skies (September 7th), join us to examine the effects of poor air quality on people in South Asia and explore solutions that can help address key risks to health from air pollution.
