What is Dinacharya? “Dinam” is the daily and “chraya” is the regime. Early morning you have to e3ake up before the “Brahma Muhurta” that is half an hour before the sunrise. So that means you have to sleep early. In the modern days, 5- 5.30 should be a good time to wake up. Why because the vata, pitta, kapha are the 2-3 energies and we have to stabilize these energies. So in between the morning hours, tis vata is dominated. So when you wake up in the morning, it became very easy to pass your stools. Constipation is considered as the major factor for many illnesses. So waking up early at ”Brahma Muhurta” is extremely useful, this is the first key of Dinacharya. After that us the gandush, which is the oil pulling. So un Ayurveda, they put the oil in the ear, that is karna pooran, in the eyes that is netra tarpana, nasyam is in the nose, at the same time, take a bit of tila tailam and apply it on the face called as the mukha lepanam. Gandush is the oil pulling. Take some warm water, put some tila tailam. Hold it till you get tears from the eye. Kavlam, that is the medicated water, herbs, they can move around your mouth is called as kavalam. Gandush is the natural anti-ageing treatment is the natural botox injection also. After all this Vyayam, or exercise plays a very big role. Every day you should exercise. When you exercise, you should do only half of your stamina, the only toy can lead a good life. Else vata gets prokoped or else you get joint pan and lots of enytiees related to vata. Ayurveda in Dinacharya has specified what types of clothes you have to wear for Dinacharya, what clothes according to what season. Not only this, by ahaar, vihaar, nidra, what food, at what time to take. 10 am to 2 pm is the time of pitta, which helps in digestion. S always have your lunch in between 10 am to 2 pm. don’t sleep after 10 pm. Early sleeping is very important. In Dinacharya, bath has been explained, it is not taking bath under a shower, but in a medicated way with neem leaves etc, so snaana is not only removing of the dirty or dust particles from your body, but your mind should also be ”Shudh”. So Dinacharya tells what you should be doing right from the time you wake up , till you sleep. If a person follows Dinacharya properly, it is not a curative treatment, but as a preventive treatment, this is going to help you. So we should try to follow our traditional practices.
