It was a devastating 2020 for the airline industry with QANTAS posting a loss of $1.47 billion. But now as coronavirus cases are reduced to a very small number in Australia with a close to zero rate of local transmissions in the major cities of Australia.
It is looking positive for international travel to re-commence towards the end of 2021. On the condition that travellers are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Domestically, QANTAS is set to resume 1200 flights between capital cities of Australia by Christmas but it is not yet certain as to whether Covid-19 vaccination will be required before embarking on one of those journeys.
