We are on Cuban soil, on the island of Cayo Largo. And it is between the roots of the mangroves that we meet the most curious inhabitant of this area, it is the Hutia, a small rodent native to the island of Cuba. Our search for knowledge about the marine turtles is rewarded when we visit the Eco-Reserve where researchers and volunteers, have only one objective: ro recover the turtles eggs from their nests and make them safe from predators.
In order to learn more about the marine turtles we dive into their natural habitat, into the protected waters of the Cayo Largo Marine Park, a virgin and uncontaminated eco-system populated by millions of multicoloured species. Another miracle on Cayo Largo are the iguanas that live all over the island, they are also heavily protected.
