Starting in the small village of Great Longstone, just north of Bakewell, we park near the church and head up the road. Just past the graveyard, on the left is a track follow that until you get to a farmers barn. Turn right at the barn and follow the foot path through the fields. Once you see the land turn into a small canyon, follow the canyon round the corner.
After a short while you will see a gate to your left leading up the hill, follow this. Once at the top, you will go from a field into an area with bushes. Keep heading along the path until you get to a cross roads. You want to head straight up the hill. Now at the top there are a number of stiles you need to go over them to get onto a road and again head up the hill.
Once at the top of the hill, next to a quarry, there will be a metal gate that you need to get over. Once over the gate, head up the mound to a thorn bush. It is be hide this thorn bush where the lost trig point of the Peak District is.
