Winter has been a rough time lately for spearfishing in Southern California (SoCal). Water conditions have been horrible and fishing as been tough for me. There was a rare weekend where the water was just crystal clear though. The visibility was about 30ft in Palos Verdes and it was beautiful. First time using a speargun reel, so I messed up a few shots by having the drag too tight. I managed to just bring home a small sheephead to feed my family. Smaller sheepheads aren't usually my target, but that day was an exception. The California Spiny Lobster was caught and safely released. Shoutout to the homie Tim for providing some nice high quality clips for this video.
Decided to end the day with a catch and cook with some california sheephead ceviche.
