Shan Foods was founded in 1981 by Sikandar Sultan, who initially started the business from a small rented house in Karachi, Pakistan. Sultan, along with his wife and children, began by grinding spices in their kitchen and packaging them for sale to local grocery stores as well as friends and neighbors.
Suffice it to say, a venture that began with a modest investment grew into a household name known for providing high-quality, convenient spice mixes to households across Pakistan. And Shan Foods has since grown into a multinational business from its humble beginnings in the Sultan family house garage.
Sultan and his wife were always driven by a passion for authentic flavors and a commitment to quality. Their dedication towards sourcing the finest ingredients and developing unique spice blends quickly and easily gained traction among consumers. As demand for their products grew, the family-operated business expanded its operations. As required, they invested in machinery and infrastructure to increase production capacity. And in spite of facing entry barrier challenges in the competitive food industry, the founders remained focused on their mission to bring the taste of wholesome home-made spices to customers near and far.
