The Gen 2 Honda Ridgeline has a design flaw where the backup camera goes black (black screen). This happens right around the time the warranty runs out for most people. As of February 2022, the department of transportation has launch an investigation into this issue for 2017 and 2018 Honda Ridgelines. There is even a class action lawsuit over the issue. I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, it has the same problem. In this video I’ll show you how to diagnose this problem and fix it yourself with do it yourself (DIY) ingenuity. Hopefully Honda will issue a recall for this issue.
