This shorebird is an uncommon visitor to the Islands. It's about the same size as the more common Pacific Golden-Plover, but it has more of a delicate elongated shape with longer stilt-like legs. The bill is straight, thin, and black throughout its length. It's grayish brown above and white below. When disturbed it moves constantly in a nervous, agitated manner.
