1 in 10 deaths in children under the age of 5 and 2 in 10 neonatal deaths are attributed to air pollution exposure, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). This is not acceptable. Air pollution is infringing on our children’s right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.
There are steps we can all take to better protect our children’s health from air pollution, from learning more about the issue, checking local resources to be informed on the air quality level where you are and adapting your lifestyle to reduce exposure.
