So glad the next-gen DLC codes were finally cracked and we can play new releases on the superior game, and in the game with online multiplayer, funnily enough! I'm sure you'll see more FBFCs of this ilk down the line.

Okay, okay, here are my real thoughts. I don't necessarily mind old disc songs being put up for sale. Some re-releases have just been scams, and I would argue that's still true for some RB3 DLC with unclear keys vs. guitar charting, but putting up eight year old charts for dead exports is just fine. But in saying that, the fact it's eight years old brings its own problematic issues. Go check out the preview video for this week's DLC if you haven't because it's quite interesting. Chop Suey still has crowd vocals in RB4, which stands in contrast to EVERYTHING ELSE RELEASED THIS YEAR, including songs just as anthemic like Heaven Is A Place On Earth.
Putting it under "new" DLC is laughable, the only remotely new addition is the harmony chart which came with the RB4 disc anyway. Nothing about this is new. Not the charts, not the audio production. Although its status as an RB2 track is mentioned in the blog, it's not really given attention anywhere else, which seems a little dishonest. Besides relicensing, what work did HMX actually do here? And this might actually set a bad precedent, because at least Chop Suey's chart is good. But I'm sure this will not be the last disc song we see again, and God help us if they relicense Epic or Reptilia without updating the charts for those.
And finally...System of a Down? I feel pretty secure in saying Spiders was the worst possible choice for a new chart from them, and they have so many more songs that would make great DLC. But you just...license Chop Suey again? Where's Lonely Day or IEAIAIO? Eh. Still a better move than when they just dumped all the GDRB songs on the store a mere two years after, proclaimed it was a hairier-than-usual licensing situation because of it and stuck by the market potential. lol
