Androgenic alopecia, usually they respond very well to finasteride and also minoxidil topical application. You have to try it for an year or two, then you will know. But if it is not helping, there is no other choice other than going for hair transplant. There is another therapy called as PRP, platelet rich plasma therapy, where we draw the patients’ blood, subject it to centrifuge, remove the platelets and those alone we inject. There are varied reports about it. Some people do very well and some do not do so well. So the hair growth is seen in some people and not in some people and do not know who are the people who are going to do well and who are not going to do well. It is worth a trial to get a couple of sittings done. Minimum of atleast 6 to 8 sittings you need to do, then only you will come to know if there is any response or not. If not then ultimate is hair transplant.
