New stereo mix with more upfront and less processed vocals, made by combining two surround mixes while referencing the original UK vinyl pressing.
"Wild Is The Wind" was originally written by composer Dimitri Tiomkin for the 1957 Oscar-nominated western of the same name. A few years later, Nina Simone recorded a cover version that deeply touched Bowie. In 1975, when he met Nina in LA while recording his tenth album, "Station To Station," he decided to record the song as an homage to her music.
The original recording was produced by Harry Maslin, as well as the 5.1 remix done in 2010.
The session musicians present on the track are: Carlos Alomar (guitar), Earl Slick (guitar), Dennis Davis (drums), George Murray (bass), Warren Peace (backing vocals)
Lyrics:
Love me, love me, love me, love me, say you do
Let me fly away with you
For my love is like the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Give me more than one caress
Satisfy this hungriness
Let the wind blow through your heart
For wild is the wind, wild is the wind
You touch me
I hear the sound of mandolins
You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know you're life itself
Like the leaf clings to the tree
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
You touch me
I hear the sound of mandolins
You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know you're life itself
Like the leaf clings to the tree
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Wild is the wind, wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
